¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge [him] vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
Then said Jesus unto him, ‹Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.›
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
