TSK · 2 Samuel 24:14

The LORD passed by before him and proclaimed:“The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,

The prophet’s attendant got up early in the morning. When he went outside there was an army surrounding the city, along with horses and chariots. He said to Elisha,“Oh no, my master! What will we do?”

David said to Gad,“I am very upset! I prefer to be attacked by the LORD, for his mercy is very great; I do not want to be attacked by men!”

For the music director; a psalm of David, written when Nathan the prophet confronted him after David’s affair with Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, because of your loyal love! Because of your great compassion, wipe away my rebellious acts!

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness.

He handed them over to the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.

But you are willing to forgive, so that you might be honored.

A righteous person cares for the life of his animal, but even the most compassionate acts of the wicked are cruel.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

ח(Khet) The LORD’s loyal kindness never ceases; his compassions never end.

He prayed to the LORD and said,“Oh, LORD, this is just what I thought would happen when I was in my own country. This is what I tried to prevent by attempting to escape to Tarshish!– because I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in mercy, and one who relents concerning threatened judgment.

Who will once again have mercy on us? Who will conquer our evil deeds? Who will hurl all our sins into the depths of the sea?

“Now my soul is greatly distressed. And what should I say?‘Father, deliver me from this hour’? No, but for this very reason I have come to this hour.
