I know where you live, and everything you do.

Can you put a cord through its nose, or pierce its jaw with a hook?

Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit.

Your enemies roar in the middle of your sanctuary; they set up their battle flags.

For look, your enemies are making a commotion; those who hate you are hostile.

But when the Lord finishes judging Mount Zion and Jerusalem, then I will punish the king of Assyria for what he has proudly planned and for the arrogant attitude he displays.

The chief adviser said to them,“Tell Hezekiah:‘This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:“What is your source of confidence?

Look, I will take control of his mind; he will receive a report and return to his own land. I will cut him down with a sword in his own land.”’”

He will go back the way he came– he will not enter this city,’ says the LORD.

You exalted yourselves against me with your speech and hurled many insults against me– I have heard them all!

The Sovereign LORD confirms this oath by his own holy character:“Certainly the time is approaching when you will be carried away in baskets, every last one of you in fishermen’s pots.

Jesus is Condemned and Mocked When Pilate saw that he could do nothing, but that instead a riot was starting, he took some water, washed his hands before the crowd and said,“I am innocent of this man’s blood. You take care of it yourselves!”

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
