When they had stretched him out for the lash, Paul said to the centurion standing nearby,“Is it legal for you to lash a man who is a Roman citizen without a proper trial?”

Then he summoned two of the centurions and said,“Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea along with seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen by nine o’clock tonight,

So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, took Paul and brought him to Antipatris during the night.

But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after this preliminary hearing I may have something to write.

Those who are under the yoke as slaves must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent the name of God and Christian teaching from being discredited.
