TSK · Proverbs 19:27

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,

The LORD asked him,‘How?’ He replied,‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ The LORD said,‘Deceive and overpower him. Go out and do as you have proposed.’

Walk abreast with a foolish person, and you do not understand wise counsel.

“Watch out,” Jesus said to them,“beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

And he said to them,“Take care about what you hear. The measure you use will be the measure you receive, and more will be added to you.

They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not recognize the stranger’s voice.”

So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes.

If someone spreads false teachings and does not agree with sound words(that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ) and with the teaching that accords with godliness,

Testing the Spirits Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

‘I know your works as well as your labor and steadfast endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil. You have even put to the test those who refer to themselves as apostles(but are not), and have discovered that they are false.
