And David^H1732 dwelt^H3427 in the stronghold,^H4686 and called^H7121 it the city^H5892 of David.^H1732 And David^H1732 built^H1129 round about^H5439 from Millo^H4407 and inward.^H1004

And this was the reason^H1697 why he lifted up^H7311 his hand^H3027 against the king:^H4428 Solomon^H8010 built^H1129 Millo,^H4407 and repaired^H5462 the breach of the city^H5892 of David^H1732 his father.^H1

Then a breach^H1234 was made in the city,^H5892 and all the men^H582 of war^H4421 [fled] by night^H3915 by the way^H1870 of the gate^H8179 between the two walls,^H2346 which was by the king's^H4428 garden^H1588 (now the Chaldeans^H3778 were against the city^H5892 round about);^H5439 and [the king] went^H3212 by the way^H1870 of the Arabah.^H6160

Also he took away^H5493 out of all the cities^H5892 of Judah^H3063 the high places^H1116 and the sun-images:^H2553 and the kingdom^H4467 was quiet^H8252 before^H6440 him.

And in the seventh^H7637 year^H8141 Jehoiada^H3077 strengthened^H2388 himself, and took^H3947 the captains^H8269 of hundreds,^H3967 Azariah^H5838 the son^H1121 of Jeroham,^H3395 and Ishmael^H3458 the son^H1121 of Jehohanan,^H3076 and Azariah^H5838 the son^H1121 of Obed,^H5744 and Maaseiah^H4641 the son^H1121 of Adaiah,^H5718 and Elishaphat^H478 the son^H1121 of Zichri,^H2147 into covenant^H1285 with him.

And the Ammonites^H5984 gave^H5414 tribute^H4503 to Uzziah:^H5818 and his name^H8034 spread abroad^H3212 even to the entrance^H935 of Egypt;^H4714 for he waxed exceeding^H4605 strong.^H2388

Now after this^H310 he built^H1129 an outer wall^H2346 to the city^H5892 of David,^H1732 on the west side^H4628 of Gihon,^H1521 in^H935 the valley,^H5158 even to the entrance^H935 at the fish^H1709 gate;^H8179 and he compassed^H5437 Ophel^H6077 about [with it], and raised it up^H1361 to a very great height:^H3966 and he put^H7760 valiant^H2428 captains^H8269 in all the fortified^H1219 cities^H5892 of Judah.^H3063

And it came to pass that, when Zedekiah^H6667 the king^H4428 of Judah^H3063 and all the men^H582 of war^H4421 saw^H7200 them, then they fled,^H1272 and went forth^H3318 out^H3318 of the city^H5892 by night,^H3915 by the way^H1870 of the king's^H4428 garden,^H1588 through the gate^H8179 betwixt the two walls;^H2346 and he went out^H3318 toward the Arabah.^H6160
