Nowe therefore let Pharaoh prouide for a man of vnderstanding and wisedome, and set him ouer the land of Egypt.

Saue that I feared the furie of the enemie, least their aduersaries should waxe proude, and least they should say, Our hie hande and not the Lorde hath done all this:

Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy.

I will speake also of thy testimonies before Kings, and will not be ashamed.

By mercy and trueth iniquitie shalbe forgiuen, and by the feare of the Lorde they depart from euill.

Because he said, By ye power of mine owne hand haue I done it, and by my wisdome, because I am wise: therefore I haue remooued the borders of the people, and haue spoyled their treasures, and haue pulled downe the inhabitants like a valiant man.

For thou hast trusted in thy wickednesse: thou hast sayd, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, they haue caused thee to rebel, & thou hast saide in thine heart, I am, and none els.

Is it such a fast that I haue chosen, that a man should afflict his soule for a day, and to bowe downe his head, as a bull rush, and to lie downe in sackecloth and ashes? wilt thou call this a fasting, or an acceptable day to the Lord?

Neither hath oppressed any, but hath restored the pledge to his dettour: he that hath spoyled none by violence, but hath giuen his bread to the hungry, and hath couered the naked with a garment,

Againe when the wicked turneth away from his wickednes that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawfull and right, he shal saue his soule aliue.

And the land of Egypt shalbe desolate, and waste, & they shal know that I am ye Lord: because he hath said, The riuer is mine, & I haue made it,

Ye reioyce in a thing of nought: yee say, Haue not wee gotten vs hornes by our owne strength?

Then shall they take a courage, & transgresse & doe wickedly, imputing this their power vnto their god.

This is the reioycing citie that dwelt carelesse, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she made waste, and the lodging of the beastes! euery one that passeth by her, shall hisse and wagge his hand.

Therefore, giue almes of those thinges which you haue, and beholde, all thinges shall be cleane to you.

A deuoute man, and one that feared God with all his housholde, which gaue much almes to the people, and prayed God continually.

But shewed first vnto them of Damascus, and at Hierusalem, & throughout all the coasts of Iudea, & then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turne to God, and doe workes worthy amendement of life.

For in Iesus Christ neither circumcision auaileth any thing, neither vncircumcision, but faith which worketh by loue.

But the fruite of the Spirit is loue, ioye, peace, long suffering, gentlenes, goodnes, fayth,

Drawe neere to God, and he will drawe nere to you. Clense your handes, ye sinners, and purge your hearts, ye double minded.
