Job 31:16 TSK

¶ If I have withheld the poor from [their] desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

¶ Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one [is] an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still.

[Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Hosea 8:1 TSK

¶ [Set] the trumpet to thy mouth. [He shall come] as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

¶ ‹And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites› [are]: ‹for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.›

‹Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.›

‹And in the morning,› [It will be] ‹foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O› [ye] ‹hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not› [discern] ‹the signs of the times?›

‹And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,›

‹And shall cut him asunder, and appoint› [him] ‹his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.›

‹And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:›

Luke 6:42 TSK

‹Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.›

‹Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.›

[Ye] ‹hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?›

‹Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;›

John 5:44 TSK

‹How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that› [cometh] ‹from God only?›

For some [of them] thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy [those things] that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Acts 10:2 TSK

[A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

¶ But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
