¶ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed [is] he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: [he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
¶ He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
The instruments also of the churl [are] evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
[Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

‹For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:›
‹Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.›
Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
¶ Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].
