When the LORD raised up leaders for them, the LORD was with each leader and delivered the people from their enemies while the leader remained alive. The LORD felt sorry for them when they cried out in agony because of what their harsh oppressors did to them.
When the angel extended his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD relented from his judgment. He told the angel who was killing the people,“That’s enough! Stop now!”(Now the LORD’s angel was near the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.)
while he went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He went and sat down under a shrub and asked the LORD to take his life:“I’ve had enough! Now, O LORD, take my life. After all, I’m no better than my ancestors.”
Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy. He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury.
So, go to the place in Shiloh where I allowed myself to be worshiped in the early days. See what I did to it because of the wicked things my people Israel did.

He came a third time and said to them,“Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough of that! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
