So Jonathan told David,“My father Saul is trying to kill you. So be careful tomorrow morning. Find a hiding place and stay in seclusion.

Jonathan Seeks to Protect David David fled from Naioth in Ramah. He came to Jonathan and asked,“What have I done? What is my offense? How have I sinned before your father? For he is seeking my life!”

David’s men said to him,“This is the day about which the LORD said to you,‘I will give your enemy into your hand, and you can do to him whatever seems appropriate to you.’” So David got up and quietly cut off an edge of Saul’s robe.

David Learns of Absalom’s Death Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said,“Let me run and give the king the good news that the LORD has vindicated him before his enemies.”

The one true God completely vindicates me; he makes nations submit to me.

All day long my tongue will also tell about your justice, for those who want to harm me will be embarrassed and ashamed.

Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?
