After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute began to speak. The crowds were amazed and said,“Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds regarded him as a prophet.

Then astonishment seized them all, and they glorified God. They were filled with awe, saying,“We have seen incredible things today.”

Jesus was teaching daily in the temple courts. The chief priests and the experts in the law and the prominent leaders among the people were seeking to assassinate him,

Then the experts in the law and the chief priests wanted to arrest him that very hour, because they realized he had told this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

Because they had heard that Jesus had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

But to keep this matter from spreading any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.”

and they summoned the apostles and had them beaten. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.
