TSK · Isaiah 45:7

God placed the lights in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,

It came between the Egyptian camp and the Israelite camp; it was a dark cloud and it lit up the night so that one camp did not come near the other the whole night.

But he replied,“You’re talking like one of the godless women would do! Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?” In all this Job did not sin by what he said.

But if God is quiet, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, then who can see him? Yet he is over the individual and the nation alike,

The LORD gives his people strength; the LORD grants his people security.

For God is the judge! He brings one down and exalts another.

Wisdom Acknowledges God’s Orchestration of Life Consider the work of God: For who can make straight what he has bent?

Yet he too is wise and he will bring disaster; he does not retract his decree. He will attack the wicked nation, and the nation that helps those who commit sin.

Show the LORD your God the respect that is due him. Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. Do it before you stumble into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile.

The Lord Guarantees Israel’s Continuance The LORD has made a promise to Israel. He promises it as the one who fixed the sun to give light by day and the moon and stars to give light by night. He promises it as the one who stirs up the sea so that its waves roll. His name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that everything comes– both calamity and blessing?

I will darken all the lights in the sky over you, and I will darken your land, declares the Sovereign LORD.

If an alarm sounds in a city, do people not fear? If disaster overtakes a city, is the LORD not responsible?

Seek the LORD so you can live! Otherwise he will break out like fire against Joseph’s family; the fire will consume and no one will be able to quench it and save Bethel.

to do as much as your power and your plan had decided beforehand would happen.

All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or the slightest hint of change.

wild sea waves, spewing out the foam of their shame; wayward stars for whom the utter depths of eternal darkness have been reserved.
