In a far-off land the LORD will manifest himself to them. He will say to them,‘I have loved you with an everlasting love. That is why I have continued to be faithful to you.

Then he came to the disciples and said to them,“Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is approaching, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

The Plot Against Jesus Two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the chief priests and the experts in the law were trying to find a way to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

But he said to them,“Go and tell that fox,‘Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.

Day after day when I was with you in the temple courts, you did not arrest me. But this is your hour, and that of the power of darkness!”

So Jesus replied,“My time has not yet arrived, but you are ready at any opportunity!

(Jesus spoke these words near the offering box while he was teaching in the temple courts. No one seized him because his time had not yet come.)

Now the Jewish Feast of Passover was near, and many people went up to Jerusalem from the rural areas before the Passover to cleanse themselves ritually.

Because Jesus knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

You heard me say to you,‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

No one has greater love than this– that one lays down his life for his friends.

I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn, I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience my joy completed in themselves.

I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”

No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her

For we have become partners with Christ, if in fact we hold our initial confidence firm until the end.

Therefore, get your minds ready for action by being fully sober, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
