And Saul^H7586 was yet the more^H3254 afraid^H3372 of^H6440 David;^H1732 and Saul^H7586 was David's^H1732 enemy^H341 continually.^H3117

And the king^H4428 said^H559 unto me, Why is thy countenance^H6440 sad,^H7451 seeing thou art not sick?^H2470 this is nothing else but sorrow^H7455 of heart.^H3820 Then I was very^H3966 sore^H7235 afraid.^H3372

Am I a sea,^H3220 or a sea-monster,^H8577 That thou settest^H7760 a watch^H4929 over me?

If I say,^H559 I will forget^H7911 my complaint,^H7879 I will put off^H5800 my [sad] countenance,^H6440 and be of good cheer;^H1082

Behold, I go^H1980 forward,^H6924 but he is not [there]; And backward,^H268 but I cannot perceive^H995 him;

Lest they tear^H2963 my soul^H5315 like a lion,^H738 Rending it in pieces,^H6561 while there is none to deliver.^H5337

Out of the mouth^H6310 of babes^H5768 and sucklings^H3243 hast thou established^H3245 strength,^H5797 because of thine adversaries,^H6887 that thou mightest still^H7673 the enemy^H341 and the avenger.^H5358

To judge^H8199 the fatherless^H3490 and the oppressed,^H1790 That man^H582 who is of the earth^H776 may be terrible^H6206 no more.^H3254

All they that see^H7200 me laugh me to scorn:^H3932 They shoot out^H6358 the lip,^H8193 they shake^H5128 the head,^H7218 [saying],

For I am ready^H3559 to fall,^H6761 And my sorrow^H4341 is continually^H8548 before me.

I will say^H559 unto God^H410 my rock,^H5553 Why hast thou forgotten^H7911 me? Why go^H3212 I mourning^H6937 because of the oppression^H3906 of the enemy?^H341

How long, O God,^H430 shall the adversary^H6862 reproach?^H2778 Shall the enemy^H341 blaspheme^H5006 thy name^H8034 for ever?^H5331

In the day^H3117 of my trouble^H6869 I sought^H1875 the Lord:^H136 My hand^H3027 was stretched^H5064 out in the night,^H3915 and slacked^H6313 not; My soul^H5315 refused^H3985 to be comforted.^H5162

When I said,^H559 My foot^H7272 slippeth;^H4131 Thy lovingkindness,^H2617 O Jehovah,^H3068 held me up.^H5582

Have mercy^H2603 upon us, O Jehovah,^H3068 have mercy^H2603 upon us; For we are exceedingly^H7227 filled^H7646 with contempt.^H937

For the enemy^H341 hath persecuted^H7291 my soul;^H5315 He hath smitten^H1792 my life^H2416 down^H1792 to the ground:^H776 He hath made me to dwell^H3427 in dark^H4285 places, as those that have been long^H5769 dead.^H4191

All his days^H3117 also he eateth^H398 in darkness,^H2822 and he is sore^H7235 vexed,^H3707 and hath sickness^H2483 and wrath.^H7110

Why is my pain^H3511 perpetual,^H5331 and my wound^H4347 incurable,^H605 which refuseth^H3985 to be healed?^H7495 wilt thou indeed be unto me as a deceitful^H391 [brook], as waters^H4325 that fail?^H539

Her adversaries^H6862 are become the head,^H7218 her enemies^H341 prosper;^H7951 For Jehovah^H3068 hath afflicted^H3013 her for the multitude^H7230 of her transgressions:^H6588 Her young children^H5768 are gone^H1980 into captivity^H7628 before^H6440 the adversary.^H6862

Wherefore dost thou forget^H7911 us for ever,^H5331 [And] forsake^H5800 us so long^H753 time?^H3117

Then^G5119 saith he^G3004 unto them,^G846 My^G3450 soul^G5590 is^G2076 exceeding sorrowful,^G4036 even unto^G2193 death:^G2288 abide ye^G3306 here,^G5602 and^G2532 watch^G1127 with^G3326 me.^G1700

But^G235 because^G3754 I have spoken^G2980 these things^G5023 unto you,^G5213 sorrow^G3077 hath filled^G4137 your^G5216 heart.^G2588

for^G1063 indeed^G2532 he was sick^G770 nigh unto^G3897 death:^G2288 but^G235 God^G2316 had mercy on^G1653 him;^G846 and^G1161 not^G3756 on^G1653 him^G846 only,^G3440 but^G235 on me^G1691 also,^G2443 that I might not have^G2192 sorrow^G3077 upon^G1909 sorrow.^G3077
