To the chiefe musition, a psalme of Dauid. Blessed is he that considereth ye poore: God wyll delyuer hym in the tyme of trouble.

He that hath pitie vpon the poore, lendeth vnto the Lord: and looke what he layeth out, it shalbe payde hym agayne.

And therfore strength the weake handes, and comfort the feeble knees.

Heale the sicke, cleanse ye lepers, rayse the dead, cast out deuyls. Freely ye haue receaued, freely geue.

Then sayde he also to hym that bad hym to meate: When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friendes, nor thy brethren, neither thy kynsemen, nor thy ryche neyghbours, lest they also byd thee agayne, and a recompence be made thee.

For I haue kept nothyng backe, but haue shewed you all ye counsell of God.

If others be partakers of this power wherfore are not we rather? Neuerthelesse, we haue not vsed this power: but suffer all thinges, lest we shoulde hinder the Gospel of Christ.

This yet I say he which soweth litle, shall reape litle: and he that soweth in geuyng largely and freely, shall reape plenteouslie.

But what I do, that wyll I do, to cut away occasion from them which desire occasion, that they myght be founde lyke vnto vs, in yt wherin they gloried.

Let hym that stole, steale no more: but let hym rather labour, workyng with his handes the thyng whiche is good, that he may geue vnto hym that needeth.

And that ye studie to be quiet, and to do your owne busynesse and to worke with your owne handes as we commaunded you:

Strayghten vp therfore the handes which were let downe, and the weake knees:

To do good & to distribute forget not, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
